Announcing the Carole Ann Daniel College of Education

As Brenau University continues its commemoration of Women’s History Month with notable events like today’s Women’s Leadership Colloquium, it is my pleasure to announce a landmark development in our institutional advancement that also honors an alumna of The Women’s College whose leadership has profoundly shaped our university and the Gainesville community.

On Thursday evening, we marked the receipt of the inaugural transformational gift supporting the new campus master plan under our Thriving Future initiative. The Daniel Family has generously donated funds to establish the Carole Ann Daniel College of Education, a gift that commemorates Mrs. Daniel’s enduring commitment to educational excellence and her love for Brenau University.

A 1968 graduate in social sciences, Mrs. Daniel exemplifies the university’s mission of fostering personal and professional fulfillment through her multifaceted accomplishments: distinguished business leadership; dedicated service as an active supporter of Alpha Delta Pi sorority; valuable contributions as a member of the Board of Trustees; and recognition as a 2022 recipient of Brenau’s prestigious Alumni Hall of Fame Award. She also previously spoke at the Women’s Leadership Colloquium.

This transformative gift will substantially enhance Brenau’s educational programs, further elevating the College of Education’s already exceptional academic reputation and expanding educational opportunities for our students. We are profoundly grateful for the opportunity to honor Carole Ann Daniel’s remarkable legacy in this meaningful way, acknowledging her significant and continuing impact on our institution.

I also want to thank everyone who was a part of this year’s 11th annual Women’s Leadership Colloquium, one of Brenau’s marquee events. This inspirational event examined the essential characteristics and perspectives of effective leadership through presentations by three distinguished speakers – Nicole Love Hendrickson, Nairika Cornett, and Debra Dobkins. If you missed the colloquium, be sure to check out brenau.edu/wlc for the recording and mark your calendars for next year.
