Linda Kern became dean of the Trustee Library in April 2018. Joining Brenau in 2006, she developed the library’s instruction program, serving first as instruction librarian, and later as Head of Research & Instruction. She specializes in information literacy instruction and critical evaluation of information sources. As dean, she oversees the development of the collection, the systems enabling students around the world to access library resources, and information literacy instruction for students throughout the university. Before Brenau, she served as a librarian at a K-12 school, joint owner of a small consulting firm, and vice president and manager of a bank trust department. Kern earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Newcomb College of Tulane University and a Master of Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University.
