Brenau University offers unique venue options in the heart of historic Gainesville for social and business events of all sizes. Our staff and catering team is committed to ensuring a smooth and memorable conference, concert, production, party or summer day-camp experience. 

As an institution of higher education, Brenau University seeks to balance its mission of education with its commitment to the broader community. The University offers its services and facilities to the external community for cultural, civic and intellectual enrichment, however University programming takes precedence in conflicting demands for space.

ALL EVENTS MUST BE REQUESTED A MINIMUM OF 60 DAYS IN ADVANCE. Gatherings of 50 or more people and events that take place on after 5 pm or on the weekends must be requested 120 days in advance.

Historic Campus

500 Washington St. SE, Gainesville

Nestled near Lake Lanier and the North Georgia mountains, the Brenau University historic campus offers a wide range of meeting venues including classrooms, dance studios, theater spaces and dining rooms. Concerts may be held indoors in one of our theaters, outside at the amphitheater or on our spacious front lawn. Meals are served in a centrally-located dining hall. Brenau also offers an indoor pool and gymnasium.

Brenau Downtown Center & Charles D. Walters Theatre on the Square

301 Main St. SW, Gainesville

Only a few blocks from the historic campus and perched on the edge of Gainesville’s bustling downtown square, the Brenau Downtown Center features nearly 4,500 square feet of meeting and ballroom space. The 300-seat Charles D. Walters Theatre on the Square completes the facility with its intimate setting for conferences, performances and special lectures. all within walking distance to several fine hotels and restaurants.

How and When to Request an Event

Your Event Services Team is dedicated to making your meeting, lecture, banquet, performance or any other event a success. For your convenience, here are three easy steps to get started.

Apply early!

The first step is to fill out the appropriate form. Time is necessary for Event Services to collaborate with other campus partners. 
Depending on the size and scope, it may take two weeks to confirm your request.

Information collected includes:

  • Dates and Times with alternate options
  • Venues/Rooms/Spaces and alternate locations
  • Anticipated number of attendees
  • AV requirements
  • Setup, Staffing, and Catering needs
