Student Groups

Whether you’re studying biology, health science, exercise science or something entirely different, the student groups within the Department of Math & Science offer a chance for you to get involved on campus and meet other students who share your interests.

Mu Sigma Chi: Mu Sigma Chi is Brenau’s math and science club. Mu Sigma Chi’s mission is to promote and generate interest in the many aspects of science and seek enrichment in those fields. As a member, you’ll be able to meet with fellow math and science enthusiasts to discuss relevant topics, receive a mentor within their field, complete service projects within the community, and organize events for Pi Day, Mole Day, and Earth Day. Mu Sigma Chi holds member meetings regularly, so students have plenty of opportunity to network and discuss common interests.

Contact Devon Sheffield, Mu Sigma Chi advisor for more information at dsheffield1@brenau.edu

Brenau University Garden Society:  The Brenau University Garden Society, also known as BUGS, gives you the opportunity to learn gardening skills and techniques from Hall County Master Gardeners, and grow a wide range of plants in the university garden and greenhouse. Most of the fruits and vegetables harvested in the garden are donated to local shelters for people in need. BUGS members also take group outings to local farms, gardens and hiking trails.  Contact Kelsey Podo, BUGS advisor, for more information at kpodo@brenau.edu

I have a passion for learning, and Brenau has allowed me to do that confidently through the support of wonderful faculty who allow me to engage deeply with the topics at hand.

A degree from Brenau University will look good going into the medical field. Brenau is a really competitive school to get into, and it looks good to get a degree from here.
Hannah Gray
My degree is Health Science, and I came in with a concentration in OT. In the past 4 years I have found that I want to teach, and that’s what I’m being called to do. I am now minoring in education, and didn’t have to change my degree. With my degree I can become a teacher, a counselor, an OT or PT, and anything else I choose.
