The Museum of the Cherokee Indian in Cherokee, North Carolina
Just a two-hour trip north of Gainesville lies the Museum of the Cherokee Indian in Cherokee, North Carolina. There, visitors can explore 13,000 years of Cherokee history at the “Story of the Cherokee” exhibit, witness the Warriors of AniKituhwa perform the Cherokee War Dance and Eagle Tail Dance, and learn about the Cherokee language.
