Brenau University has entered an enrollment agreement with Lakeview Academy in Gainesville, Georgia, that will grant admission to five qualified Lakeview graduates each year for the next five years. This is one of several partnerships the two schools share.
The agreement is an expansion of the partnership between Brenau and Lakeview, which has included previous collaborations on academics and sharing spaces for the arts and athletics.
“Brenau is pleased to expand our relationship with Lakeview Academy through this agreement. It continues the multiple relationships between our two institutions, both curricular and co-curricular, and we are pleased to welcome Lakeview graduates,” Brenau President David Barnett, Ph.D., said. “Lakeview and Brenau already share facilities, such as the Charles D. Walter Theatre on the Square, so Lakeview students will already feel at home on Brenau’s campus.”
Lakeview also allows Brenau athletes to use its facility for track and field, and some Lakeview students are dual-enrolled at Brenau.
“Lakeview Academy is grateful for our ongoing partnership with Brenau University, which now includes three distinct areas,” said John Simpson, head of school. “This admissions agreement adds to our existing partnerships in fine arts and dual enrollment. We value and appreciate what Brenau adds to Lakeview’s ongoing commitment to excellence in college preparatory education.”
Barnett and Simpson inked the agreement at a ceremony on Brenau’s campus Thursday, June 6.
Lakeview Academy is a private, coeducational college preparatory school for students starting in preschool through grade 12.
Admission to Brenau will be extended to the five qualified candidates in the learning platform of choice: residential, commuter or online at any of Brenau’s campuses. Prospective students will still need to apply, but application fees will be waived for Lakeview students.
