Brenau University has named Nathan R. Goss as vice president of marketing and enrollment management.
Goss has served in various enrollment roles at Brenau since March 2005 and has more than 24 years of experience in enrollment management. Goss previously had been appointed to the role on an interim basis by Brenau President David L. Barnett, Ph.D.
“Nathan served as interim at a crucial time during the enrollment process, when a school seeks to turn prospective students who have applied for admissions into enrolled and registered students. He performed well as interim and his hard work during this time shows that he is the person best suited for this role,” Barnett said. “Enrollment management is about more than just bringing in students; retention also is vital. After two decades at Brenau, Nathan understands the characteristics of students who will be successful here, from the traditional Women’s College student to the online graduate student.”
As vice president, Goss oversees undergraduate and graduate admissions for all campuses and online programs. Before serving as interim vice president, Goss was executive director for enrollment partnerships and assistant vice president of enrollment management.
Goss said he was “deeply honored and humbled” to be named to the position.
“The opportunity to continue to collaborate with my university and division colleagues in helping to provide transformative educational experiences for the disparate students we serve is exhilarating and a welcomed significant responsibility,” Goss said. “I am fortunate to have an experienced and knowledgeable team by my side in helping to shape the future of our students, foster a welcoming community, and ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive.”
Goss has specialized in mentoring effective recruiting strategies, building collaborative approaches in achieving goals and has consulted for a number of higher education institutions. Most recently, he helped to develop key recruiting measures for Brenau to reach international students and traveled globally to meet with partners and prospective students. Goss also has successfully negotiated multiple agreements with the Technical College System of Georgia and local private schools to create new academic pathways to Brenau.
Before coming to Brenau, Goss was an admissions representative for DeVry University in Alpharetta, Georgia,
A native of Georgia, he earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Oklahoma City University. He also earned a Master in Business Administration and post-graduate certification in marketing from Brenau.
