Dr. Ertekin holds a Ph.D. degree in marketing from University of North Texas, and has over 20 years of teaching experience in various marketing courses. He also received a recent degree in computer science from University of North Georgia. Dr. Ertekin published articles in peer-reviewed academic journals, including Marketing Management Journal, Academy of Marketing Studies Journal, and Journal of Marketing Development and Competitiveness. He presented at over 30 national and international conferences, including American Marketing Association Summer Conference, INFORMS Conference on Service Science, Association of Marketing Theory and Practice Annual Conference, and published his work at the conference proceedings.
His research focuses on consumer behavior, international marketing and digital marketing. Dr. Ertekin is passionate about teaching all types of students, including first-generation, non-traditional, international and minority students, and helping them succeed in their careers. He connects with his students, shares marketing insights, and facilitates professional development through Marketing Society at Brenau and social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. He incorporates his computer science skills into his teaching methods, using data analysis, web design, and programming tools in order to enhance his students’ learning experience. Dr. Ertekin values sustainability in marketing practices and makes sure to bring a purpose-oriented focus in his classes. Dr. Ertekin enjoys traveling. He has traveled extensively around Europe and the United States.
