Margie Gill, PhD, LPC, NCC, CPCS, ACS

Dr. Margie Gill is a licensed psychotherapist and clinical supervisor for mental health professionals. Dr. Gill has provided humanitarian aid for over 30 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Georgia Gwinnett College, master’s degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Brenau University, and her doctorate in Counseling from the University of Georgia.

Dr. Gill is the Executive Director of Institutional Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Initiatives. Additionally, she is an associate professor of psychology. Her research interests include human trafficking, historically marginalized populations, attachment, trauma, family structure, juvenile delinquency, adverse childhood experiences, mass incarceration, social justice, and gang affiliation. Dr. Gill is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Board Certified Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor, and Certified in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Dr. Gill serves on the Georgia Statewide Human Trafficking Taskforce, Co-Chair of Workgroup 7 and Chair of Workgroup 9. She is also the Vice-Chair for the DeKalb County Juvenile Mental Health Court – Journey Program Advisory Board. She serves as a board member for Dekalb County Juvenile Court. Dr. Gill is a member of Leadership Gwinnett’s Class of 2022. Dr. Gill’s philanthropy extends domestically and internationally. She develops and oversees schools and conducts research in Nicaragua, Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania. She is a scholar, practitioner, advocate, and leader.
