Natasha Iszard, Ed.D.


Knowledgeable, passionate, dedicated, and approachable are just a few words students use to describe Dr. Natasha M. Iszard. Dr. Iszard currently serves as an associate professor and chair of initial certification in the College of Education. In this truly rewarding role, Dr. Iszard challenges students to understand and embrace their passions. Dr. Iszard’s own passion was forged at Alabama State University (B.Ed., early childhood education), University of South Alabama (M.Ed.), and Argosy University (Ed.D.).
In addition, her wealth of invaluable experience includes more than 25 years in the classroom as a kindergarten teacher, early intervention teacher, English language learner teacher, and parent instructional coordinator. The indelible mark of inspiration that Dr. Iszard wishes for all of her students is to embrace servant leadership and to always reflect the change they want to see in the world. Her favorite motto remains, “If I can help someone along the way, then my living will not be in vain.”
Dr. Iszard’s has maintained research and scholarship in the areas of mindfulness instructional practices, multicultural education, and the importance of incorporating a wide range of diverse children’s literature across content areas, ensuring all students are represented in the curriculum they are expected to master.
