Dr. Kin is trained as a clinical geropsychologist. She received her B.A. in psychology and Master’s in community psychology from California State University Dominguez Hills. Dr. Kin completed her Ph.D. at the California School for Professional Psychology at Alliant University , Los Angeles with specializations in health psychology and geropsychology. She is currently a Professor of Psychology and Director of the M.S. in Applied Gerontology program at Brenau University
Dr. Kin has over 35 years experience working and teaching in the field of geropsychology, gerontology and geriatrics. Her specialization is the research and psychosocial treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Dr. Kin has served on the Board of Directors of the Gainesville – Hall County Community Council on Aging and the Georgia Gerontology Society.
She had a private practice in California for several years and was Vice President for training and program development at the corporate for a national healthcare company.
Additionally, she teaches at both the graduate and undergraduate level at Brenau. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Georgia Psychological Association (GPA), the American Society on Aging (ASA), the Gerontological Society of America, and the Georgia Gerontology Society.
In her spare time she enjoys reading mystery novels and admiring her two young granddaughters.
