Katelyn Whitlock, PT, DPT, MSEd

Dr. Katelyn Whitlock joined the Brenau DPT Faculty in September 2022. She graduated from Emory University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in May of 2018. Following her DPT, she completed the Emory Acute Care Residency in 2019. Before earning her DPT, she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Exercise Physiology from the University of Virginia. She is an APTA Board-Certified Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Clinical Specialist. Dr. Whitlock has previously held adjunct faculty appointments in the Emory University and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine DPT programs.

Dr. Whitlock practices as an acute and ICU physical therapist primarily on the Cardiopulmonary Team at Emory University Hospital, working with heart transplant, lung transplant, LVAD and ECMO patients. Her research interests involve investigating post-acute patient outcomes following ICU admission in a variety of patient populations, including cardiac surgery, COVID-19 and advanced mechanical circulatory support. Dr. Whitlock is an active member of PTAG and APTA, and serves on the APTA Academy of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Education Committee. She is passionate about optimizing the student learning experience to develop creative, passionate, and patient-first physical therapists.
