Student opportunities
- Take foundational courses including nonfiction writing, language studies, creative writing, Asian and African literature, Women’s literary studies and more
- Pursue a creative writing concentration or creative writing minor and be eligible for the Dorothy Chaney Schrader endowed scholarship your senior year
- Explore questions that have challenged and intrigued readers in texts across literary traditions
- Participate in cross-disciplinary learning through texts that touch on politics, religion, philosophy and history
- Enhance your international and cultural competency by reading literature from diverse cultures and underrepresented voices

- Join Sigma Tau Delta and present your creative and analytical work at their national conference
- Submit your creative writing to The Elixir, Brenau’s student-produced literature and arts magazine, or join the editorial team

The Elixir
Regardless of their major, Brenau students have the opportunity to showcase their work in creative writing and the visual arts in The Elixir, the university’s annual published literature and arts magazine. Students are welcome to submit more than one piece with written submissions no longer than 1,000 words. All writers and artists retain their copyrights.
