Bachelor of Science in Special Education

An education student teaches a child in a classroom

You have a heart for helping students with learning differences, and we want to help you grow into a teacher who not only inspires them, but gives them the education they need to succeed in life. In the Bachelor of Science in Special Education program, you’ll have the option to take courses that are fully on-ground or online. Your coursework will focus on the needs of diverse learners with mild disabilities, giving you the skills and knowledge you need to build effective lesson plans and strategies. You’ll also select areas of concentration, such as mathematics, science, social studies, English language arts or reading, and will take additional courses to build your understanding in these areas. This means that when you graduate and pass the GACE certification exam, not only will you be certified to teach Pre-K through 12th grade, you’ll have all the tools and experience you need to make a difference for your students.
